Volunteer

Lend your skills to the mission

The programs run on people. Volunteers help us train NGO teams, mentor HYPE interns, write and design, build software and keep the operation moving. Tell us what you are good at and we will find the place it counts.

About you

A person reads every offer and replies by email.

The roles we are filling now

Facilitators teach a track for a cohort. The second HYPE cohort opens for applications in September 2026 and runs three months, blended, with AI literacy and low code automation across every track, so the tracks needing teachers are website design and development, mobile app development, UI and UX design, graphic design, animation, automation and digital marketing.

Mentors take one intern for the length of the programme. This is the role people underestimate: interns are paired with a mentor in their own track, and the mentor is usually the reason someone finishes with references and a clear idea of what working life asks of them.

Trainers for NGO teams sit with an approved organisation while it learns the platform. Handing a stretched three-person charity a login is not a gift; walking its team through the first campaign is.

Designers, writers, engineers and organisers keep the rest of it standing. If your skill is not on this list, say what it is anyway.

Who taught the first cohort

Eleven facilitators, every one of them a volunteer. Over 69 young people applied, 25 were shortlisted, 14 were trained, and all 14 were placed, in technology companies, government agencies and NGOs. That happened because experienced professionals gave their time so that students who could not have paid for the training received it anyway.

How it works after you send the form

A person reads it, and we write back. If there is an obvious place for you we say so; if the right cohort or organisation is a few weeks away we tell you that instead of leaving you waiting. We agree the shape of the commitment with you before anything starts, because a volunteer who was promised two hours and asked for ten does not come back. Nothing you send goes on a mailing list.
